Israel After Olmert: Insider Briefing with Meretz MK Abu Vilan (in person and by conference call)
Israel
after Olmert
(*See below for how to hear the talk via conference call)
On the same day that Israel’s ruling
Kadima party chooses a new chairperson to replace Prime Minister Ehud Olmert,
who has publicly pledged to resign, Meretz MK Abu Vilan will offer us his
valuable insights into what awaits Israel in the post-Olmert era. What are the key differences between the two
major contenders for Olmert’s job – Tzipi Livni and Sha’ul Mofaz? Will Olmert’s successor be able to form a
viable coalition, or is Israel headed for new elections? Does Olmert’s departure signal the denouement
of the peace process with the Palestinians? And will the next Prime Minister be willing to
continue the informal peace negotiations with
Syria?
