Current Meretz USA Resources

Hebron Watch

While our eyes remain focused
on the “big picture” – the need for all parties to break the deadlock and resume
meaningful negotiations on a two-state solution – we mustn’t forget that, day
after day, the occupation continues to take its toll on the Palestinian
population of the West Bank. The situation in Hebron is emblematic of all
that is wrong in the occupied areas, where Israeli citizens maintain a
privileged existence, alongside Palestinians denied fundamental civil and human
rights. Hebron Watch is designed to spread the word about these settler abuses and to give you
timely information on the situation. Check out Hebron Watch for the latest news.

Meretz in Israel

This section of the website includes statements, articles, and letters
from members of Meretz in Israel. Visit the Meretz-Yachad website by
clicking here for English or here for Hebrew.

Campus Resources

For Students:

Our student page is intended to provide resources and background information
for students writing papers relating to the Israeli/Palestinian
conflict or other civil rights issues with which Meretz USA is
concerned, and/or student groups looking for topics to discuss.

Meretz USA, along with Ameinu and the Jewish Youth Movements Hashomer Hatzair and Habonim Dror, is a sponsor of the Jewish student network, the Union of Progressive Zionists (UPZ). UPZ provides resources to student activists organizing for social justice and peace in Israel and Palestine. For more information on the organization, visit its website: www.upzshalom.org.

For Professors

The Jewish Academic Network for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (JANIP), is the joint project of Meretz USA and Ameinu, the Labor Zionist
Network. The network was created to bring together scholars, teachers,
and administrators who reject the increasingly polarized debate
surrounding the Palestinian–Israeli conflict. Its goal is to bring a
voice into the conversation – out of our identification with and
commitment to Israel – that supports a negotiated two-state solution,
an end to occupation, and Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza and bilaterally
agreed-upon settlements in the West Bank.

To find out more about JANIP's activities, visit its website: http://janip.net.

Links

Includes links to other websites (many of which contain resources and background
materials) belonging to organizations that share our concerns. Also includes list of links to media and press resources that cover Israel, the Middle East, and the Jewish World.
